Who handles your data?

Julien Mawet and Christel Corbusier, owners of The Alpaca House, Chemin des Cawettes 9, 4960 Malmedy, Belgium. For personal data enquiries: contact@thealpacahouse.com.

Your rental enquiries

The form prepares a message in your browser. It does not send the entered data to the website server. You then choose to send it using your email app. Details you send us (name, contact details, dates, occupants, company and requirements) are used to answer your enquiry and prepare a possible rental. This is based on the pre-contractual steps you request, and on the contract if a rental is agreed. Required fields help prepare a complete enquiry; you can also contact us directly.

Hosting and recipients

Vercel hosts the website. Technical data, including IP addresses and request logs, may be processed to operate and secure it, based on our legitimate interest in a working and secure website. The owners and providers needed for hosting and email have access to data relevant to their services. Vercel may process data outside the European Economic Area; its transfer safeguards are described in its data processing agreement linked below. Links to WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Google Maps open third-party services with their own policies.

Retention

Correspondence is retained as needed to handle your enquiry and, if you rent, manage the agreement. Records subject to a legal obligation or needed to establish or defend a legal claim are retained for the applicable period. You can ask what we hold and request deletion where there is no overriding reason for retention.

Your rights

Subject to the GDPR conditions, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, or object to certain processing, by emailing contact@thealpacahouse.com. You can also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority. This website does not make automated decisions about you.
